Abstract

Background, Chronic renal failure is a progressive and reversible renal function disorder where the body's ability fails to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance, causing uremia and one of them is constant thirst. To control thirst, several nonpharmacological therapies can be carried out, one of which is chewing gum therapy. Objective, Explaining the analysis of nursing care in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) with nursing problems Hypervolemia at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methods, This study uses a case study method with a descriptive research design. The number of samples is 5 patients. The nursing innovation used is to provide chewing gum therapy to reduce the thirst experienced by the patient. Result, Patients with hypervolumia nursing problems are given chewing gum therapy to reduce thirst. As a result, the patient's thirst decreased by an average of 2 levels. Recommendation, Health workers can apply it to patients and as a recommendation for chewing gum therapy in reducing thirst experienced by patients with chronic kidney failure.
