Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease is a gradual decline in kidney function. One of the symptoms that appear in Chronic Kidney Disease patients is edema. Untreated edema will affect the respiratory system and affect function and mobility. Handling done to deal with this problem can be done with ankle pumping exercise namely with elevation and health education to reduce excess fluid in the body. Objectives: To analyze nursing care by providing therapy with the application of ankle pumping exercise with an elevation position and health education in Chronic Kidney Disease patients with hypervolemia in the Asoka room of Prof.. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Methods: This scientific work uses a case study method on five patients. The instruments used are nursing care formats, observation sheets, SOP and leaflets. Result: The main nursing problem that arose in the five patients was hypervolemia. The implementation carried out on the five patients was combining ankle pumping exercise therapy with elevation and health education to reduce hypervolemia. Recommendation: From the results of this nursing care, it is hoped that for further research it is expected that the therapy will be carried out more than three days.
