Abstract
Background, COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Until now, the number of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 is still increasing and there are still various types of drugs used to reduce the symptoms caused by patients. Evaluation of Drug Use (EPO) can find out the description of therapy and the accuracy of drug use in COVID-19 patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Objective, To find out the pattern of use and evaluate the appropriateness of the use of antibiotics and antivirals in adult patients hospitalized with Covid-19 at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods, Non-experimental descriptive research, data collection was carried out retrospectively with the total sampling method. The drug data obtained was then compared with the COVID-19 Management Protocol Pocket Book II Edition and then analyzed using Microsoft excel. Research Result, In this study, a sample of 92 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 was obtained. Antiviral drugs that are often prescribed for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital are Favipiravir 200 mg amounting to 64.13%, while the antibiotic often used for COVID-19 patients is Azithromicin 500 mg amounting to 59.38%. Conclusion, Evaluation of the use of antiviral drugs is known that 82.61% is right for the indication, 82.61% is right for the drug and 100% is right at the dose, while the evaluation of the use of antibiotics for COVID-19 patients can be seen that 92.59% is right for the indication, 92.59% is right drug and 98.77% right dose. Recommendation, For the hospital, it is recommended that there be improvements in the completeness and clarity of recording medical record data.
