Abstract

Background: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease that causes airway constriction. The effects of a severe asthma attack can cause respiratory arrest. Efforts are being made to deal with respiratory problems in asthma patients, one of which is deep breathing exercises (Slow Deep brething). Objective: to analyze nursing care in patients with ineffective breathing pattern problems in the emergency room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with slow deep breathing therapy. Methods: The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 patients with ineffective breathing patterns. The tools in this study were nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, observation sheets for signs of ineffective breathing patterns and slow deep breathing SOPs. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: The results of the study showed that the five patients had the same chiefcomplaint of shortness of breath. Priority nursing diagnoses in Patients I-V are ineffectivebreathing patterns related to respiratory effort resistance. The nursing interventions carried out were effective coughing exercises and slow deep breathing breathing exercises. The nursing implementation carried out is effective coughing exercises and slow deep breathing breathing exercises. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in effective cough, decreased sputum production, decreased wheezing and improved respiratory rate
