Abstract

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or better known as COPD is among the top ten burdensome diseases in the world, according to WHO 2016 states that COPD is the fourth leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease World Health Organization. One of the management What can be done is breathing exercises such as pursed lip breathing and semi position fowlers. This position is usually given to patients who experience shortness of breath. On In the semi-Fowler's position, the earth's gravitational pull will pull the diaphragm down This reduces the use of O2 and can cause pulmonary ecstasis. Research Objectives: To describe nursing care with pursed lip breathing and semi-Fowler's position in COPD patients. Research methods: In this case study, we choose a descriptive method with a approach case. This type of descriptive method is defined to describe or describe importantevents that occur in the present. This single case can defined as a population group, or one person who experiences a problem. In this case study, the authors took case data on 5 patientswith the same case and documented it in a care report nursing. Research result: These results indicate that there is an increase in SPO2 after given Pursed Lip Breathing and semi-Fowler's position to the five patients the. So that with Pursed Lip Breathing and semi-Fowler's position can increase SPO2 Patient. This was followed by a decrease in the patient's respiratory rate. Conclusion: That there is a significant relationship between pursed lip breathing and semi-Fowler's position with oxygen saturation of COPD patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that it can be used as information on the development and improvement of the quality of education for the future and as a reference for further scientific research, especially in the problem of ineffective airway clearance.
