Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness after cataracts, the number of sufferers continues to increase without the public knowing. With the development of polypharmacy, the drugs used today have a very large possibility of interaction, so that the use of drugs is appropriate and rational, it is necessary to evaluate the use of drugs, namely to anticipate the occurrence of problems that arise to patients. Research Objectives: To determine the accuracy of drug use in antiglaucoma patients, which is reviewed from the aspect of the right indication, the right patient and the right dose. Research Methods: Non-experimental descriptive research, with retrospective observational data collection. Sampling technique used purposive sampling technique and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study: The most frequent use of antiglaucoma drugs in Purbowangi General Hospital is Timolol 0.5% as much as 95.6%. Evaluation of glaucoma drugs based on the right indications obtained a 100% presentation, evaluation of the right dose of timolol was obtained the overall result was the right dose, with glaucoma therapy the overall result was not the right dose, while the administration of carpine therapy got the overall result on the right dose. And on the right evaluation of the patient, the overall result is the right dose. Conclusion: Evaluation of the use of antiglaucoma drugs in antiglaucoma patients with 100% correct indications, 100% correct patients and 0.5% timolol and carpine drugs (100%) but incorrect doses of glaucoma drugs. While the right drug shows 100% results Recommendation: Future research is expected to be able to examine the evaluation of the use of glaucoma drugs using drug administration guidelines, apart from the National Guideline formulaium or others.
