Abstract
Background: Stomatitis is an inflammation that occurs in the oral mucosa. It is usually in the form of yellowish white-spots. Stomatitis can affect all ages, especially a baby who is susceptible to stomatitis. One of stomatitis causes is traumatic. There are many ways to accelerate the healing of stomatitis medically and non-medically. The continually use of medical drugs can have a negative impact on the baby. This is because of the chemicals. On the other hand, non-medical drugs are safer because they are made from traditional materials and can be processed independently. Therefore, the writer makes an innovation of traditional materials. It is virgin coconut oil (VCO) and natural honey used as a herbal therapy for infants with Stomatitis. Objective: Providing midwifery care for children with stomatitis by using traditional medicine therapy (VCO and Honey). Method: This study is a descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The data collection was done by collecting primary data and secondary data. The data processing was performed by using three methods, namely reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Result: After having a treatment using traditional medicines (VCO and honey), baby F was recovered from suffering from Stomatitis in 5 days. Conclusion: The stomatitis suffered F, an 8 month-old baby, could be treated better and more effective by using medical drugs than using VCO and Honey
