Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the SARSCoV2 virus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) this disease is a global pandemic that causes large enough economic losses to cause death. One of the prevention efforts recommended by WHO is to increase the body's immunity. Health supplements that have been researched and recommended by the Indonesian Ministry of Health include vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and zinc. The use of health supplements must be adjusted to the needs of the body. One of the considerations when taking health supplements is knowing the benefits of health supplements. Community knowledge and behavior affect public health. Objective: To determine the relationship of respondent characteristics with knowledge level and behavior of supplements used to improve body immune during covid-19 pandemic at community of Kedawung village, Kebumen regency. Methods: Descriptive research with prospective data collection. The samples studied were 100 respondents. Data analysis using Chi Square test . Result: The level of knowledge in the category is sufficient 44% and the behavior category is sufficient for 49%. The results of the chi square there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge with the last education (0.000), occupation (0.003), income (0.010), where to buy health supplements (0.047) because the p value <0.05 and there is no significant relationship between behavior because the p value > 0.05. Conclusion: The knowledge and behavior of the community of Kedawung Village shows sufficient results. There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge with the latest education (0.000), occupation (0.003), income (0.010), where to buy supplements (0.047) and there is no significant relationship between behavior because the p value> 0.05. Suggestion: It is hoped that further research can measure the level of public knowledge about dagusibu in an effort to increase body immunity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
