Abstract

Background, COVID-19 cases are still increasing and the therapies used for COVID-19 therapy are still diverse, one of the therapies used is antibiotics. The goal of antibiotic therapy in COVID-19 patients is to prevent bacterial coinfection. The need for evaluation related to the use of antibiotics in COVID-19 patients to provide an overview of therapy and the appropriateness of antibiotic use. The purpose of the study was to determine the accuracy of the use of antibiotic therapy and the results of therapy in COVID-19 patients in the Prembun Regional General Hospital inpatient. Research Methods, non-experimental descriptive research, retrospective observational data collection with cross sectional method. The research sample was calculated by the slovin formula. The drug data obtained were compared with the Indonesian Ministry of Health Guidelines Pocket Book Ed. 2 Protocol for the Management of COVID-19 in Indonesia in 2021. Research Results, In this study, a sample of 140 confirmed COVID-19 patients was hospitalized at the Prembun Regional General Hospital. The single most widely prescribed antibiotic was Levofloxacin (15.92%). After administration of antibiotics, 109 patients were declared cured. Based on this study, antibiotic administration affects mortality in COVID-19. Conclusion, Based on the results of the evaluation of antibiotics, it is known that the right indication (100%), the right drug (60.82%), the right dose (31.84%). The results of therapy after the use of antibiotics (78%) patients can survive. Recommendations, For the hospital, the need for improvements in and completeness in recording medical records.
