Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is a cancer with the most cases in the world. One of the cancer treatments is chemotherapy. Clients undergoing chemotherapy will experience various physical and psychological side effects. One of the psychological side effects is selfacceptance. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between spirituality and selfacceptance in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methods: The method of this study used a Correlation Description with a Cross-Sectional approach. The total population was 14,173 patients. This research used purposive sampling technique. The number of sample were 99 respondents. Collecting data using Daily Spiritual Experience Scale and Unconditional Self Acceptance Questionnaire. Data analysis used Pearson Product Moment. Results: Spirituality in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in good condition. Self-acceptance in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in good condition. There is a relationship between spirituality and self-acceptance in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Prof. Hospital. dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto (p=0.646). The better the spirituality of breast cancer patients, the better their self-acceptance. Recommendation: For further researchers to develop research on the relationship of spirituality with self-acceptance with different sample characteristics such as in patients with cervical cancer.
