Abstract

Background: Waiting time is a problem that often arises in a hospital service. Waiting time is an important component that can lead to patient dissatisfaction if the waiting time is not up to standard (<60 minutes). Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction in the internal medicine clinic of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study used using descriptive correlative design with cross-sectional approached with Chi-Square test bivariate test. Results: The waiting time for services at the internal medicine clinic at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital is still quite long (> 60 minutes). Satisfaction of patients who expressed dissatisfaction (58.8%) and (41.2%) expressed satisfaction. The Chi-Square results of this study found that there was a relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction in the internal medicine poly at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Conclusion: There is a relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction in the internal medicine clinic at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Recommendations: Improving the discipline of the doctor's response time in serving patients, the care of nurses and the responsiveness of patient acceptance and administration procedures are accelerated so that patients do not wait long.
