Abstract
Background: Now on in the globalization era, young generation and teenagers must be saved from the free socialization. Many of the foreign culture’s negative influences effect the teenagers’ life such as free sex. Objective: This research was conducted to find out the correlation between level of knowledge about free sex and the relationship stages of grade II students of Bachelor of Nursing Program in Muhammadiyah Health Science institute of Gombong. Method: The research used quantitative descriptive technique with cross sectional approach. The samples consisted of 76 respondents. The data were analysed using Kendal Tau test. Results: The majority of students or 43 (56.6%) respondents had good level of knowledge about free sex. 30 respondents (39.5%) had been aleady in the stage 4 of relationship. The Kendal Tau test results indicated p value 0.039 (p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a correlation between level of knowledge about free sex and the relationship stages of grade II students of Bachelor of Nursing Program in Muhammadiyah Health Science institute of Gombong. Recommendation: students are suggested to have good knowledge of sex and the school is recomended to have more supervision to the students by performing in depth counseling.
