Abstract
Background: Flood disaster is a natural disaster that often occurs in Indonesia caused by natural and non-natural factors. Through disaster education using the Disaster Preparedness Comic media in schools, students can understand the knowledge and what actions to take when a disaster occurs for students aged 10- 12 years. Research Objective: To determine the Effect of Disaster Preparedness Comic Media (KOSIBA) on Knowledge and Flood Disaster Preparedness in MI Muhammadiyah Mujur Lor Students Research Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental one group pre-test – post-test design. The number of samples was 45 respondents, with intervention treatment given education using disaster preparedness comic media (KOSIBA) with a time of 60 minutes. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The Results: Most of the students who experienced an increase in knowledge were 24 students with an average increase of 14.52, while students who experienced an increase in flood disaster preparedness were 30 students with an average increase of 19.83. Thus there is an effect before and after being educated with a significance value of 0.004 or p < 0.05 and preparedness about flood disasters with a significance value of 0.000 or p < 0.05. Conclusion: There is an effect of a significance value of 0.004 or p < 0.05 and preparedness about flood disasters results in a significance value of 0.000 or p < 0.05. Recommendations: For further researchers to be one of the references and additional knowledge in the development of knowledge regarding flood disaster preparedness.
