Abstract

Background: Snakebite is one of the emergencies that can cause death if not treated quickly and appropriately. In the case of a snake bite, the risk of infection caused is greater than that of ordinary wounds. The purpose of the study: Knowing the effect of snakebite pre-hospital education on the knowledge and skills of the residents of Banioro Village. Research method: using Quasi-Experiment with One group pre and posttest design. The total population is 105 people. The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 51 respondents. The study used the Wilcoxon Test to determine the influence. Results of the study: there is an influence on snakebite pre-hospital management education with a pvalue on the knowledge vairabel p-value of 0.000 > 0.005. Conclusion: There is an influence of snakebite pre-hospital management education on knowledge and skills in the banioro village community. Recommendation: It is hoped that the next study can emphasize education, especially for skills about giving signs of swelling after being stained, as well as develop by adding respondents and becoming a reference source for subsequent researchers.
