Abstract

Background, Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) is a condition where there is a gradual decrease in kidney function caused by various kidney diseases. Family support is a form of behavior carried out by the family for CKD sufferers. Family support is a family action against other family members in the form of support in the form of informational, assessment, instrumental, and even emotional support. Objective, This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and dietary compliance of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong. Methods, The method of this research is quantitative with a correlative research design with a sample of 70 patient data taken using the Slovin formula. Data collection was carried out in April-May 2022. The instrument of this study was a questionnaire. Result, The results of this study were the family support of patients with chronic kidney failure was highest in the sufficient category with 41 respondents (58.6%). Diet compliance of patients with chronic kidney failure in the obedient category with a total of 53 respondents (75.7). There is a significant relationship between family support and dietary compliance in patients with chronic renal failure with a significance value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05). Conclusion, There is a significant relationship between family support and dietary compliance in patients with chronic renal failure with a significance value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05). Recommendation, Health workers can apply it to patients and as a recommendation for warm compress therapy to reduce pain in hypertensive patients.
