Abstract
Background : Patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy may have various physiological and psychological problems. One of the symptoms experienced by hemodialysis patients is condition of depression. The depression may affect imunologi function, nutrition, and dialysis obedience. One of the nursing treatment to solve depression is distraction, relaxation technique. Listening to Holy Qur’an reading therapy is an alternative nursing threarment. Objective: To find out the influence of listening to holy qur’an (Ar- Rahman) reading therapy on depression level of the chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Methods: This research used Quasy experimental with one group pre and post-test. There were 40 respondents taken by total sampling technique. Data were analyzed by paired t test, p value <0,05 to determine to influence of the therapy. Results: Most respondents (60.0%) experienced mediocre depression level before receiving the therapy. After listening to HolyQur’an (Ar- Rahman) reading therapy, 22 respondents (55,0%) showed normal condution. The result of paired t test indicated that p value = 0,000 (<0,05) meaning Ha was received. Conclusion: Listening to Holy Qur’an (Ar- Rahman) reading therapy had influence on depression level of the chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy.
