Abstract

Background: This research is motivated by the high number of COVID-19 which causes everyone to comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocols to avoid or prevent this disease. But there are several factors that affect people's lazy to implement COVID-19 prevention protocols. Undisciplined to conduct the COVID- 19 prevention protocols caused by lack of knowledge about signs and symptoms, and prevent it. These problems are part of why people are not compliant with the COVID-19 prevention protocols. Purpose: To determine the relationship between knowledge and compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocols in SMP Negeri 2 Prembun. Method: This study was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was 86 students, they were chosen by the stratified random sampling technique, it was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Prembun. Measuring the level of knowledge about COVID-19 and the level of respondent's compliance used a structured questionnaire. Then the respondent’s data were analyzed by Kendall's tau correlation analysis. Results: The majority of respondents were 54 females (62.1%). The average age of respondents was 14 years, they were 34 respondents (39.1%). Most of the respondents had knowledge about COVID-19 in the good category as many as 67 respondents (77.0%). While the level of compliance was 67 respondents in the good category (77.0%). Based on statistical results using the Kendal Tau test, there was a significant relationship between the knowledge and compliance of respondents with a p-value = 0.000 (0<0.05). Conclusion: There was a relationship between knowledge and compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocols in SMP Negeri 2 Prembun. Recommendation: It is hoped the educational institution can maintain the level of compliance with COVID-19 prevention, and provide health education on how to prevent COVID-19.
