Abstract

Background: The family has a function as a caregiver and has an important role in caring for the sick in their family. The family has a function as a caregiver and an important role to take care of when family members are sick. The role of the family's become important when family members are getting critical conditions and the family is needed during the treatment process. Sleep quality is a basic need because it makes someone feel calm both mentally and physically. It is also able to help concentration levels in daily activities. Objective: To determine the correlation between anxiety levels and sleep quality in the patient's family at the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive correlational research method with a cross-sectional approach. The purposive sampling technique applied to recruit 61 familymembers of patients at the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in the patient's family at the ICU room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with p-value = 0.037 <0.05 Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality at the patient's family in the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Recommendation: Further research is needed to explore factors associated with anxiety levels and sleep quality.
