Abstract

Background: WHO in 2019 stated that as many as 5.7 million infants did not receive complete basic immunization and another 14 million infants did not receive the initial dose of DTP immunization. More than 60% of the total 19.7 million children live in 10 countries, one of which is Indonesia. The impact that occurs when toddlers are not immunized is that they are vulnerable to diseases such as tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis B, diphtheria pertussis, tetanus, measles, polymyelitis, and rubella so that it can interfere with the health status of toddlers. Objective: to analyze the relationship between family support and adherence to basic immunization. Methods: This study uses quantitative correlation, with a cross sectional approach. A sample of 86 toddlers was taken using random sampling technique. Results: The highest percentage of family informational support in the good category is 56 respondents (65.1%), Family appraisal support or awards in the good category are 74 respondents (86.%), Family instrumental support in the medium category is 57 respondents (66.3%), Emotional support in providing basic immunization in the good category, namely 73 respondents (84.9%) and the level of adherence to basic immunization for toddlers aged 0-9 months as many as 76 respondents (88.4%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and adherence to basic immunization in with a value of p = 0.000 which means p <0.05. Recommendation: The results of this study are input for the Puskesmas to further improve education to the community and involve families in the success of the complete basic immunization program for toddlers aged 0-9 months.
