Abstract

Background : Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that is still a public health problem that causes high morbidity and mortality. The increasing number of TB cases in various regions is caused by several things including, wrong diagnosis, inadequate treatment, inadequate prevention programs, several factors such as population displacement, increasing poverty, endemic HIV infection, selfcare, and inadequate health services. In addition to well-planned programs, it will certainly have a positive impact if the role of cadres can be optimized in TB control, where the role of TB cadres is influenced by several factors such as knowledge and motivation. Objectives : To determine the relationship between knowledge and motivation with cadre activity in the management of pulmonary TB at UPTD Puskesmas Nusawungu I Method : This study is a descriptive qualitative correlative research with a sample of 76 respondents taken with inclusion and exclusion criteria with purposive sampling technique. Results : The results of the chi-square between the knowledge variable and cadre activity p = 0.003 and r = 0.324, the motivation variable and cadre activity p = 0.002 and r = 0.336. Conclusion : There is a relationship between knowledge and motivation with the activeness of cadres in TB control at the Nusawungu I Public Health Center UPTD. Recommendations : This research is expected become reference evaluation material for UPTD Puskesmas Nusawungu I for material for the development of programs that can increase cadre participation and useful knowledge transformation in services for TB sufferers and can help TB cadres, especially related to TB control activities.
