Abstract

Background: WHO has declared that Covid-19 is a pandemic on March 11, 2020. According data from Tanggap Covid, in Central Jawa until July 2021, Covid-19 cases have reached 248.672 cases and in the Karanggayam Region until July 2021 who have confirmed cases of COVID-19 as many as 60 people and there are 17 cases of death. During the current covid-19 pandemic, in addition to maintaining the transmission of contagion, the government also takes policies by empowering the community, especially cadres. The existence of health cadres is very necessary in disseminating information about COVID-19 and the implementation of health programs such as posyandu Objective: to find out the prevention behavior of covid-19 infection in health cadres in the work area of Puskesmas Karanggayam II. Methods: This study used a quantitative descriptive method. A sample of 70 cadres was taken by purposive sampling technique. Results: The level of knowledge about covid-19 in health cadres is mostly at good category as many as 43 respondents (61.4%), enough 21 respondents (30%), less 6 respondents (8,6%). Attitudes of them are mostly at good category 46 respondents (65.7%), enough 15 respondents (21,4), less 9 respondents (12,9). Their prevention practices with the five M (wearing a mask, washing hands, social distancing, stay away from the crowd, mobility limitation) is mostly at good category as many as 44 respondents (62.9%), enough 19 respondents (27,1), less 7 respondents (10%). The variables related to the behavior of cadres in preventing the tranmission of covid-19 are age, education level and occupation. Conclusion: The behavior of preventing covid-19 infection of health cadres at Public Health Center of Karanggayam II is mostly at good category. Recommendation: This research is expected to be an evaluation material for subsequent researchers to develop this research towards factors that affect Covid- 19 prevention behavior, especially in health cadres.
