Abstract

Background : Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is the cause of premature death in the world. Hypertension causes various complications, to prevent one of them is done by self-management. Self-management is the process by which individuals direct their own behavior changes. Objective : To identify Self Management in Hypertension Patients in Kabuaran Village, Prembun District, Kebumen Regency. Methods : This type of research uses quantitative research methods and the design used in this research is descriptive design. Sampling in this study used a total sampling technique, the number of samples was 57 people. Results : The results showed that self-management of hypertension sufferers based on self-integration with sufficient category 34 respondents (59.6%), selfmanagement of hypertension patients based on self-regulation with sufficient category 33 respondents (57.9%), self-management of hypertension patients based on interactions with health workers and others with categories 43 respondents (75.4%), self management of hypertension patients based on blood pressure monitoring with sufficient category 23 respondents (40.4%), and self management of hypertension patients based on compliance with recommended rules with good category 28 respondents (49.1%). Conclusion : Conclusion Self management of hypertensive patients is in sufficient category (based on self-integration, self-regulation, interaction with health workers and others, and blood pressure monitoring), good category (based on compliance with recommended rules). Suggestion : For further researchers are expected to conduct further research to determine the factors that affect self-management.
