Abstract
Background: Public perception of the COVID-19 vaccine is a response or acceptance of the information obtained regarding the belief in the halalness of the vaccine, the willingness to be vaccinated and the capacity of health professionals who provide the Covid-19 vaccine. This is because there are so many issues that affect information about the Covid-19 vaccine, such as the halal factor and the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine. Objective: This study aims to determine the public's perception of the covid-19 vaccine in the work area of the Karanganyar Public Health Center, Kebumen Regency. Methods: This research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The samples were 231 respondents obtained by purposive sampling technique refers to the table of Krejcie-Morgan. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis was done descriptively. Results: There are 176 respondents (76.2%) who have positive perception of the covid- 19 vaccine and 55 respondents (23.8%) have negative perception. Variables related to public perception of the COVID-19 vaccine are educational status, occupation, age, gender, and history of non-communicable diseases. The dominant variables that influence people's perceptions of the COVID-19 vaccine are occupation and age. Conclusion: Public perception of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Karanganyar Public Health Center work area, Kebumen Regency, is mostly positive. Recommendation: The results of this study are expected to be a source of data to conduct further research in the form of the relationship between age, gender and education with public perceptions of the covid 19 vaccine. Other researchers can also use different research designs for further research.
