Abstract

Background, the background of this study is that breast cancer and its therapy have an impact on physical, psychological and social, according to the findings of the eight journals that the psychosocial problems of breast cancer patients are influenced by various factors and have an impact on psychosocial conditions that affect the quality of life of patients. Research Objectives, the purpose of this study was to determine the description of psychosocial distress in breast cancer patients based on a literature review study. Research Methods, the method of this study uses the PICO framework with the keywords "Distress Psychosocial" and "Breast Cancer" using the Pubmed and Google Scholar databases. There were 1,259 research journals obtained with 8 journals including inclusion criteria. Research results showed that breast cancer patients experienced psychosocial distress such as feeling anxious, stressed, not confident, feeling helpless, feeling easily weak, changing role functions, social isolation, emotional changes, high need for help. In conclusion, the conclusion of this study is that there are problems in breast cancer patients regarding psychosocial distress such as anxiety, physical problems, social problems, financial problems, social support, body image, sexual problems, changes in role functions as a wife and mother caused by various factors. Recommendations for further researchers, For further researchers, it is hoped that more related articles or journals will be used and the results of this literature review can be used as a reference for the development of research related to nursing interventions in overcoming psychosocial distress experienced by breast cancer patients such as home care services.
