Abstract
Background : Family support is very much needed by stroke sufferers, for the number of stroke patients 10 with good family support is 6 (60%), and less family support 4 (40%), who can survive life, because the family is the main forum in providing closest support from stroke survivors. Besides family support can provide motivation to recover which will help accelerate the healing of the disease. Healing is a state of recovery and the return of someone who is sick to be healthy again after suffering from an illness, both physically and mentally.. Objective : To determine family support with a level of motivation to recover in stroke patients at Tlogowulung village area, Alian district. Methods : This study uses a correlation research method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample technique used is a total sampling of 32 stroke patients by analyzing the data using the Kendal Tau test. Results : The results showed that there was a relationship between family support and the level of motivation to recover in stroke patients in the Tlogowulung village, Alian sub-district with a p-value of 012 or <0.05. Conclusion : The results of this study found a relationship between family support and the level of motivation to recover in stroke patients at Tlogowulung Village, Alian District. Recommendation : Further research is needed to determine the factors related to family support that can provide motivation to recover in the future for stroke sufferers.
