Abstract
Background, Cadre has a role that is close to the community, in the process it can help the Mental Health Alert Village program. In carrying out its role, good knowledge about mental health is needed, in an effort to optimally handle mental health problems. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of knowledge level about mental disorders and the role of mental health cadres in handling mental health problems at Kuwarasan Community Health Center work area Kebumen. Research Methods, quantitative with analytic correlative design using the Spearman Rank statistical test. The research sample was 67 health cadres at Kuwarasan Community Health Center work area of Kebumen. The time for filling out the questionnaire is 20 minutes. The knowledge level questionnaire was adopted from Purba (2020) with a validity test value of 1 and a reliability of 0.613. The questionnaire on the role of mental health cadres was adapted from Saputra (2019) with a validity test of 0.719 and a reliability test of 0.846. The results of the study showed that the majority of health cadres at Kuwarasan Community Health Center work area of Kebumen had a low level of knowledge of 50 people (74.6%) and the majority of health cadres' roles had a poor category of 64 people (95.5%). Bivariate results show that there is a relationship with p-value = 0.008 < α= 0.05 and R = 0.322 Conclusion, There is a relationship between the level of knowledge about mental disorders and the role of health cadres at Kuwarasan Community Health Center work area of Kebumen. Recommendations, The results of the study can be used as data to increase the knowledge of health cadres in handling mental health problems in the community.
