Abstract
Backgraound : Gastritis is a disorder of the stomach or digestive tract thath occurs in humans. Gastritis is also an inflammation that occurs in the gastric mucosa which causes discomfort in the upper abdomen, feels nausea and vomiting, can even decrease appetite and cause headaches Research Objectives : To analyze the relationship between diet and the incidence of gastritis in high shool student of SMA Muhammadiyah Gombong Research Methods : This study uses a quantitative correlation method with a crosssectional approach. Sampling using executive sampling technique and obtained a sample of 70 respondents. Collecting data using a questionnaire. Data analysis usng univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square test Research Results : The results of this study were 50 ( 71.4% ) respondents with gastritis, 20 ( 28.6% ) respondents without gastritis. A total of 32 ( 45.7 % ) respondents with s good diet and 38 ( 54.3 % ) respondents with a bad diet Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of gastritis in high school students of SMA Muhammadiyah Gombong wit p-value ( 0.000) ( <0.05 ) Recommendation : For further researschers with the result of this study examines other variavles that are thought to be relate to the occurrrrence of gastritis that have not been investigated in this study, such as smoking variables, and psychological/physical stress
