Abstract
Background: Cardiovascular disease is still a global hazard and is the cause of the highest risk of death in the world. Riskesdas data in 2018 the prevalence of heart failure in Indonesia based on doctor's diagnosis is estimated at 1.5% or around 29,550 people. Indonesia is experiencing rapid economic growth, changing lifestyles, increasing consumption of calories, fat and salt, increasing cigarette consumption, and also decreasing activity. This results in an increase in the rate of cardiovascular damage. Objective: To determine the relationship of factors that influence the incidence of CHF in the Cardiology PolyClinic of Dr Tjitro Wardojo Hospital, Purworejo. Methods: This research is a descriptive correlation with a cross sectional design. A sample of 75 patients was taken using a simple random sampling technique. Results: There was an effect between age (p = 0.000), sex with (p = 0.010), Hypertension (p = 0.000), Diabetes Militus (p = 0.000) smoking habits (p = 0.014) and obesity (p = 0.037, p<0.05) on the incidence of CHF. There was no effect of education (p = 0.557) and occupation (p = 0.228, p>0.05) on the incidence of CHF. Conclusion: The factors that influence the incidence of CHF include age, gender, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking habits and obesity, while education and work have no influence on the incidence of CHF. Recommendation: As an evaluation material for nursing services in order to provide more quality services, especially CHF patients with more attention to the factors that affect CHF.
