Abstract

Background: Nursing actions in hospitals are procedures that cause anxiety and fear and discomfort for children. The therapy that can reduce anxiety that occurs in children is hug therapy. Objective: to explain nursing care for children with hospitalization anxiety problems in children with typhoid fever at Punggelan I Public Health Center Methods: The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 typhoid fever children with hospitalization anxiety. The tools in this study were the nursing care format, Nursing Kit, observation sheet for hospitalization anxiety symptoms and SOP for hug therapy. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: The results of the study showed that the five patients had the same main complaint, namely typhoid fever. The priority nursing diagnosis in Patients I-V is Anxiety related to situational crisis. The nursing interventions performed were anxiety reduction (I.09314) and hug therapy. The nursing implementation carried out is anxiety reduction (I.09314) and hug therapy. The results of the nursing evaluation in the five patients showed a decrease in signs of hospitalization anxiety in children with typhoid fever. Recommendation: The results of the study can add input and scientific references in developing nursing science, especially pediatric nursing to carry out hug therapy to reduce stress on children in the hospital
