Abstract

Background: Bullying becomes an infinite risk over time. In Indonesia, the number of cases of bullying victimes has been increasing significantly, and even it seems not to decrease. Based on the research in five Asian countries conducted by the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) in 2015, Indonesia is in the first level (83%) in the incidence of bullying at schools. As the result of aggressive behavior of bullying that teenagers get problem in expressing their feelings. This is because bullying doesn’t calm them. On the other hand, they may feel stressed. Consequently, it will cause them lack of confidence. Besides, they will be shy, anxious, and it will be difficult for them to focus. Finally, they cannot get along with the surrounding environment. Objective: To know the influences of bullying to the self-confidence of VII grade students (teenagers) of MTS Negeri 2 Kebumen. Method: This study is a quantitative research with cross-sectional design. The respondents were 224 students using total sampling technique. Bivariate analyze was carried out using the Chi-square test with a significant level of 95%, Result:. The result of the Chi-Square test was that p-value was 0.012 <0.05. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an influence of bullying towards the self-confidence of VII grade students (teenagers) of MTS Negeri 2 Kebumen
