Abstract

Background: Any plant of herb that could potentially as antioxidant is karsen (Muntingia calabura L.). His plant is extensively are widely dispersed accros the Indonesia and considered to be a plant wild. Karsen leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) contain flavonoids that have a potential nature of antioxidens. So that we have a trimmed facial wash extract of ethanol leaves karsen. Perpose: The perpose of this study is to make facial wash with a variation of Carbopol 940 that result is test of availability of physiological properties and have antioxidant activity using the DPPH. Method: Variating gelling agent (Carbopol 940), then do physiciality test. Includes organoleptic test, homogeneity tests, pH test, viscosity test, staility test and ANOVA test. DPPH methods are used to identify antioxidant activity. Result: Evaluation of the physical properties of the organoleptic preparation of formulas I, II, and III in the form of gel preparation with a characteristic odor of extrac, and blackish green in color. The preparation is made homogeneous and had a pH in the range of 4.5 – 6.5. Foam stability, viscosity and stability of the preparation meet the standards. Based on the result of the ANONA test, Carbopol has an effect on the viscosity and p of the preparation, but not with foam stability. The antioxidant activity of vitamin c and facial wash preparation ethanol extrac of kasren leaves were 3.24 ppm & 9.80 ppm. Conclution: The contration of Carbopol 940 affects the physical propertoes of the preparation. Vitamin C and facial wash preparation of karsen leaf ethanol extrac have antioxidant activity IC50 of 3.24 ppm & 9.80 ppm which are very strong antioxidants. Recomentation: The result of the test that have been carried out are good, but further test need to be done regarding the antioxidant avtivity of the extrac ethanol facial wash of karsen leaves.
