Abstract
Background: Indonesia is a country with the proportion of SC for 9,8%. The highest proportion is in Jakarta (19,9%). Interviews on February 26-30th October 2015 with 9 post SC patients at Rahmah maternity room of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong obtained that on average for 3 hours post operation they complained either mild, moderate, or severe anxiety. Objective: To identify the effect of murottal Al-Qur’an therapy on decreasing anxiety of post operation of SC patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental research with one group pre-post test design. The samples were 31 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis using Paired t Test. Result: There 12 respondents (38,7%) had no anxiety, 13 (41,9%) had mild anxiety, and 6 (19,4%) had mediocre anxiety. There was an significant effect and difference after the therapy with p-value 0,000 (<0,05) at 95% significance. Conclusion: There was an significant effect of murottal Al-Qur’an therapy on decreasing anxiety of post operation of sectio caesarea patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong.
