Abstract

Background Becoming an adult human is one of the stages of development that must be lived, where the roles experienced will be more complex. At this time individuals face problems, namely the Quarter life crisis. Students are included in the age that is experiencing the crisis. It is needed to have emotional quotient and self-efficacy skills as a way to get through this crisis. Objective to analyze the correlation between emotional quotient and self-efficacy to quarter life crisis of undergraduate nursing students program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong. Methods This research is descriptive correlational by using cross sectional design. The research population was all undergraduate nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong with a purposive sampling technique with a population of 534 and a sample of 229 students. The inclusion criteria taken were active students from semester 1 to the final semester using the Emotional Quotient inventory scale questionnaire, the Self Efficacy questionnaire and the Quarter Life Crisis questionnaire via Google form with the bivariate chi square test. Results Most students have emotional quotient medium category of 108 respondents (47.0%), have self efficacy with the moderate category of 109 respondents (47.4%) and experienced a quarter life crisis with the moderate category as many as 121 respondents ( 52.6%). The results of the chi square correlation test between Emotional Quotient and Self Efficacy to Quarter Life Crisis have a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion there is a significant correlation between emotional quotient and self efficacy to quarter life crisis of undergraduate nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong. Recommendations the community, psychiatric nurses and psychiatric nursing lecturers will provide supportive psychotherapy and counseling guidance to overcome the problem of quarter life crisis of nursing students.
