Abstract
Backgroud: Family Planning (birth control) is an attempt to prevent pregnancy temporarily, in long term and permanently. Based on the data of National Board of Family Planning 2012, the contraceptive widely used is 3 month-injection contraceptive. The fact, however, there are still many acceptors who do not know this kind of contraceptive well. is 3 month-injection contraceptive. The fact, howver, there are still many acceptors who do not know this kind of contraceptive well. Purpose: Implementing counseling on selecting 3 month-injection contraceptive for primigravidae post partum mothers to improve their knowlege about that kind of contraceptive. This was done by using flipchart media in private midwifery clinic of Midwife Teguh Rahayuningsih. Method: This scientific paper is qualitative descriptive with case study type. The data was pbtained by collecting primary data and secondary data. The data processing was done in 3 different methods – reduction, presentation and conclusion. Result: After having counseling on the selection of 3 month-injection contraceptive by using flipchart media, Mrs. L, a 24 year-old primigravid pospartum mother could understand and know well about the 3 month-injection contraceptive. Conclusion: The midwifery care by giving counseling on the slection of 3 month-injection as the contraceptive could make Mrs. L know and understand better that kind of contraceptive. This was done by using flipchart media. Finally this made Mrs. L decide to use this 3 month-injection contraceptive after the fecund period.
