Abstract
Background: Ineffective breastfeeding in post SC patients can be overcome by conducting breastfeeding education to patients and families using the Family Centered Maternity Care/FCMC approach. Mothers with family support through the FCMC approach are expected to have optimal ability to adapt maternally during the postpartum period Objective: Carrying out nursing care for post SC mothers with breastfeeding was not effective through the FCMC approach at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital Methods: The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects to be studied were 5 post SC patients with the main problem being ineffective breastfeeding. The tools in this study were nursing care formats, questionnaires, checklists, breastfeeding leaflets, SOP for breast care. Presentation of data by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which are presented in the documentation method and resume of nursing care Results: The study showed that the five patients had the main complaint of not being able to breastfeed their children. Priority nursing diagnoses in Patients I-V are ineffective breastfeeding related to inadequate breastfeeding as evidenced in the five patients who complained of not being able to breastfeed their children. The nursing intervention that was carried out was breastfeeding education. The implementation of nursing is breastfeeding education through the FCMC approach. Nursing evaluation of the five patients showed an increase in knowledge about breastfeeding for the five clients, but there were two clients who could not carry out effective breastfeeding activities on the evaluation at the end of the day of care due to a lack of response from the family Conclusions: Positive response from the support system influences the outcome of effective breastfeeding Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for preparing SOPs for the management of patients with ineffective breastfeeding
