Abstract
Background: Hypertension is one of the most common diseases in the elderly caused by body systems, especially the cardiovascular system. According to WHO data, around 972 million people worldwide suffer from hypertension, and it is expected to increase to 29.2% in 2025. The role of families and individuals in achieving improved health in families with hypertension is very important. However, the problem that often arises is ineffective family health management, which is an unsatisfactory pattern of handling family health problems in order to restore family health Objective: To analyze nursing care for family nursing care at the stage of development of the elderly with the problem of ineffective family health management in the elderly who experience hypertension in Kaliwatubumi Village, Purworejo Regency. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The subjects of the case study were 5 people in the developmental stage of an elderly family with hypertension, who experienced problems with ineffective family health management. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: Of the five patients before being given hypertension exercises, the average client had a blood pressure of 162.6/99 mmHg and after being given hypertension exercises 2 times a week for 1 month, the average blood pressure of the five clients was 131/78.2 mmHg. The decrease in blood pressure of the five clients showed an average of 31.8/21.6 mmHg. Conclusion: Exercise for hypertension in the elderly which is done 2 times a week for 1 month is quite significant in reducing blood pressure.
