Abstract

Background :Cardiac arrest is an emergency condition due to injury/illness which results in the heart not working properly with loss of breath and loss of cycles. Basic Life Support is an activity to prevent brain damage and life support. 2,000,000 cases of death due to cardiac arrest in the world. Indonesia cardiac arrest activities outside the hospital 10,000 people each year have cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest caused by cardiovascular disease in Central Java 1.6%. Purpose: To described of basic life support knowledge for Indonesian National Armed Force personel at Yonif Mechanized Raider 412 Purworejo by maintaining confidentiality and there is no compulsion to participate in this research. The information can be used for health development for Indonesian National Armed Force at Yonif Mechanized Raider 412 Purworejo. Method : This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive observational design. The research instrument used a Basic Life Support knowledge questionnaire. Sampling with a purposive sample. The research respondents were 212 people. Result : The results showed that the knowledge of Basic Life Assistance was 120 people (56.6%), the majority of whom were Mechanized Raider 412 Purworejo Personnel. Conclusion : The level of knowledge of Basic Life Support with Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation at Raider 412 Mechanical Infantry Battalion Purworejo mostly has an adequate level of knowledge Recommendation : Future researchers can develop this research with different methods such as qualitative so they can gain deeper knowledge.
