Abstract
Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure is a serious disease that basically increases the risk of heart, brain, kidney and other diseases. The incidence of hypertension in Banjarnegara reached 14.0%. Family resilience supports the process of success in treating patients with elderly hypertension. Objectives: To find out the description of family resilience in the management of hypertensive elderly in the working area of the Susukan I Banjarnegara Community Health Centers. Methods: The research conducted was descriptive research using a survey approach. Total population is 302 families. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 80 respondents. The variable in this study was a single variable, namely family resilience in the management of hypertensive elderly of the Susukan I Banjarnegara Community Health Centers. The researcher adopted a family resilience questionnaire from researcher Wandasari (2012) using the Walsh Family Resilience Questionnare (WFRQ) questionnaire with 32 items by modifying the questions according to the research objectives. Results: almost all respondents have high family resilience, hight family belief systems, hight Family Organizational Patterns, and hight Communication Processes. Conclusion: The description of family resilience in the management of hypertensive elderly of the Susukan I Banjarnegara Community Health Centers is almost all respondents have high family resilience, high family belief system, high family Organizational Pattern and high communication processes. Recommendation: It is hoped that future researchers will be able to carry out research on the relationship between family resilience and blood pressure stability in the elderly.
