Abstract
Background: Getting safe food is a basic human right. In fact, not everyone can get access to safe food. Based on the health profile of Central Java in 2006, Extraordinary Events Food poisoning occurs in 21 District / City with the highest frequency in Banjarnegara (29 events). The government has set regulations on food safety, there are still sellers of food or manufacturers who use banned food additives that may harm human health. Objective: To determine the behavior of the security hawker food vendors in the Work Area SD Kalibening District of Banjarnegara district. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with survey approach. Samples numbered 40 merchants by total sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Results: This study resulted in the finding that the majority of the food trade (72.5%) with knowledge of the security snacks category enough. Most of the food trade (87.5%) with the attitude of the security snacks categories. Most of the food trade (77.5%) with the actions of the security snacks category enough. Most of the food trade (70.0%) with the behavior of the security snacks category enough. Conclusions and Recommendations: Most of the food trade (70.0%) with the behavior of the security snacks category enough, then health workers, especially nurses need to provide guidance and counseling to street food vendors in the school environment with regard to food safety include: the production method well, the use of additional materials, and hygiene and sanitation practices.
