Abstract
Background: Sectio Caesarea surgery is a method of delivery by dissecting the abdominal wall and uterus of a mother to expel the fetus. The problem that still often occurs in the process of sectio caesarea is an infection of the surgical wound. Handling to prevent the occurrence of these infections can be done by administering prophylactic antibiotics. Objectives: The study aims to describe the use of prophylactic antibiotics and evaluate the use of prophylactic antibiotics in sectio caesarea patients surgery in Banjarnegara Islamic Hospital. Methods: This research is non-experimental research with a descriptive method with retrospective data collection. The sample in this study was surgical patient medical record data for the January-December 2022 period with a total of 100 patients. Results: The results showed that the most widely used prophylactic antibiotics were Ampicillin Sulbactam inj (76.00%), Cefotaxime inj (13.00%), and Cefazolin inj (11.00%). Evaluation of the use of prophylactic antibiotics based on the correct diagnosis 100.00%, the right indication 100.00%, the right drug 100.00%, the right dose 64.00%, the right patient 100.00%, the right route of administration 100.00% and the right time giving 100.00%. Conclusion: Evaluation of the use of prophylactic antibiotics showed that the correct diagnosis, indication, drug, patient, route of administration, and time of administration was 100.00%, while the right dose was 64.00% Recommendation: The same study can be carried out with a different method, namely prospectively and with a larger number of samples
