Abstract
Background : The bigest fifth lung disease is asthma. Alttough it is not a primary couse of death, the effect of the disease is quite disturbing for the productivity of working. The numbers of the asthma patients increase steadily over time. Asthma cannot be cured but we can only heal its sympthomps. The efforts for the asthma patients are preventing its recurrence. Some factor influencing the recurrence of asthma are health care, environmental health, allergens, and the usage of asthma medication. Objective : to identify the factors influencing the asthma recurrence of the asthma patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods: the study used correlational method with cross sectional approach. The samples consisted of 33 respondents that were taken by using accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and correlational analyses with Chi Square test. Results : the findings show that there were no correlation between keeping health and asthma recurrence (p=0.948). There was a correlation between environmental health and asthma recurrence (p=0.001). There was a correlation between the usage of asthma medication and the asthma recurrence (p=0.002). Conclusion : factors inlfuncing the asthma recurrence of asthma patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital were environmental health and the usage of asthma medication
