Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a disease that will accompany a lifetime and requires long-term care so that it greatly affects the quality of life of sufferers. The quality of life of type two DM patients is in the form of feeling satisfied and happy in going through life, and being able to independently fulfill basic needs which consist of physically, psychologically, environmentally and socially healthy (International diabetes federation, 2021). Purpose, To determine the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Wanadadi 1 Health Center Banjarnegara. Methods, this study uses descriptive research methods. The sample method uses purposive sampling, while the total sample is 195 respondents. The research instrument for measuring quality of life uses the WHOQOL questionnaire which has been tested for validity and reliability with a value of 0.882 and the DQOL questionnaire has been tested for validity and reliability with value of 0.85, Respondents filled out the quality of life questionnaire within ± 15 minutes. The results showed that the quality of life using WHOQOL was mostly in the sufficient category, 91 (46.27). Characteristics of quality of life using the most DQOL with less categories amounting to 80 (41%). Conclusion, the results of the study showed that the general quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients with the WHOQOL questionnaire was in the adequate category and the quality with the DQOL questionnaire was in the poor category. This research can be used as input for health promotion efforts regarding the 4 pillars of diabetes mellitus to be implemented in each region where there are DM patients so as to improve the quality of life of DM patients.
