Abstract

Background: Low self-esteem is a feeling Low self-esteem is a negative feeling about oneself or one's abilities, such as feelings of unimportance, worthlessness or helplessness that last a long time. Signs and symptoms that appear are negative self-assessment, lack of eye contact, lethargy , and speak softly. Gardening activity therapy as an effort to increase low self-esteem and increase the client's positive abilities. Objective : Describe how to treat patients with low self-esteem psychologically through gardening activities. Method : This scientific writing uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were obtained by interviews, observation and documentation on 3 clients with the main problem of chronic low self-esteem who met the inclusion criteria. Meetings with 3 clients were held for 6 meetings, each meeting took 10 to 20 minutes. The instruments used were tools and materials for gardening, from observing signs and symptoms of low self-esteem, gardening ability sheets, and gardening SOPs. Results: Evaluations carried out after being given nursing care for 6 meetings showed a decrease in signs and symptoms of low self-esteem, and an increase in the client's ability to garden in the three clients. Recommendation: Gardening activity therapy can be applied at the Dosaraso Shelter House in Kebumen and in the surrounding environment for use on clients with the main problem of low self-esteem
