Abstract

Background : Low self-esteem is a negative feeling towards oneself, loss of confidence, low selfesteem and insignificance for a prolonged time. Signs and symptoms that appear are judging yourself negatively, lack of eye contact, lethargy, speaking in a low tone. Affirmation therapy as an effort to increase self-esteem and increase self-confidence. Objective : Provide an overview of nursing care in low self-esteem clients by conducting positive affirmation therapy activities in the sempor health center area 1. Methods : This scientific paper is descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained by interviews, observation and documentation. On 3 clients with low self-esteem problems , who have met the inclusion criteria. The instruments used are low self-esteem signs and symptoms form, affirmation therapy ability sheet and affirmation therapy SOP. This therapy is carried out by visiting the client's house regularly for approximately 30 minutes in each meeting and this therapy is carried out for 5 meetings. Result : Based on the results of nursing care given to clients with chronic low self-esteem through affirmative therapy and generalist therapy which were carried out for 5 meetings showed a decrease in symptoms of chronic low self-esteem in client 1 score 12 to 5 (difference 7), client 2 score 12 to 4 (difference 8), and client 3 score 12 to 3 (difference 9). The results obtained the highest decrease in signs and symptoms were client 3 with a difference of 9 . Recommendation : Affirmation therapy can be used on clients with chronic low self-esteem and can be applied both at home and in the community.
