Abstract

Background: Cancer is now one of the main contributors to death in the world. Breast cancer sufferers do not know age, even the symptoms of breast cancer are quite high among adolescents, if it is detected late, there will be a risk of becoming malignant cells. Lack of knowledge about early detection of breast cancer is the cause of high mortality. The collaborative learning model is modeled in a zig-zag manner, meaning that participants collaborate with other groups, where the group is a cross between the expert team and the original team to achieve a common goal. Purpose: Proving the effect of the jigsaw technique on learning early breast cancer prevention on the knowledge of young women at the Wiriosoedarmo Gombong Modern Islamic Boarding School Method: This research is a quantitative study using the quasy experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design on 60 female junior high school students at the Wiriosoedarmo Gombong Modern Islamic Boarding School. The statistical test uses a nonparametric test, namely the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. Results: The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test show a P value = 0.000 where a p value <0.05 means that H1 is accepted, which means that there is an average difference in the knowledge of young women at the Wiriosoedarmo Gombong Modern Islamic Boarding School. Conclusion : There is an influence of the jigsaw technique on the knowledge of young women regarding early prevention of breast cancer. Recommendation: Future research is expected to develop this research and combine this study with others.
