Abstract
Background: Mental preparation is important in the process of preparation for surgery because mental of patients who are not ready for surgery or labile may affect their physical condition. Mental preparation of family support is needed by patients undergoing surgery. Objective: To determine the correlation between family support and anxiety levels preoperative patients in Central Surgery Instalation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This study used correlation method with cross sectional approach. 42 patients were taken as the samples are by using accidental technique. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis correlation using Kendal Thau test. Results: the findings show that most pre operative patients had good category of family support. Most patients had medium category of anxiety level. There is a correlation between family support and anxiety levels of preoperative patients in Central Surgery Instalation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital.
