Abstract

Background: Disturbance growth in children under five will raise health problems that are not good in the present or the future. Parenting parents play an important role because the role of parents is very influential on the development of toddlers. Objective:To find out the relationship between mother's upbringing and the incidence of stunting in Pekasiran village, the working area of the Batur 1 Public Health Center. Method:This study used an analytic method with a cross sectional approach. The research instrument uses the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire-Short Version (PSDQ). The population in this study is the uruhmothers who have toddlers aged 2-5 years268 mothers. The sample method uses purposive sampling while the number of samples obtained is 73 mothers under five. Results :The parenting style of mothers under five was obtained by the majority with a permissive pattern of 36 (49.3%), the incidence of stunting under five was obtained by a number of 39 (53.4%) and obtained a p_value of 0.000 (<0.0%). Conclusion:There is a relationship between mother's upbringing and the incidence of stunting in the village of Pekasiran, Working Area of the Batur 1 Health Center Recommendation :Increase the knowledge of families who have toddlers about good parenting so they can avoid stunting.
