Abstract

Background, Bogangin Village is an area mostly made up of plantations and rice fields, with 62 people working as nira farmers. Occupational accidents often occur to nira farmers. This is because farmers do not use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hats, helmets, gloves, or ropes when doing their work. This is what increases the risk of work accidents for nira farmers. Objectives, Knowing work accidents that occur to nira farmers in Bogangin Village, Sumpiuh District. Methods, This type of research is descriptive and quantitative, with a crosssectional approach. The research sample was taken using a total sampling technique as many as 62 nira farmers in Bogangin Village, Sumpiuh District. The instrument uses a work accident questionnaire. Data analysis is done using univariate. Results, Most of the nira farmers in Bogangin Village are aged 56–65 years (45.2%), have primary school education (66.1%), and are male (100%). Types of work accidents include falling (37.1%), being hit by objects (56.5%), scratches or cuts (98.4%), and animal or insect bites (100%). The nature of the injury categories included sprains (90%), muscle or tendon strains (85%), bruises (77%), and surface injuries (97%). The categories of injured or injured limbs included the head (58%), neck (58%), trunk (87%), hands and feet (97%), eyes (37%), and ears (23%). The categories of tools that cause accidents include sickles (98%), knives (90%), and kudi (73%). Conclusion, The most common work accidents that occurred to nira farmers in Bogangin Village, Sumpiuh District, are animal or insect bites with surface injuries and the parts that were injured, namely the hands and feet. The tool that caused the most accidents was the sickle. Recommendations, Further researchers are expected to examine the handling of work accidents among nira farmers
