Abstract

Background: Stroke continues to be a prominent issue within the field of health, not only in Indonesia but also in various other countries worldwide. It stands as the second leading cause of mortality and the third leading cause of disability on a global scale. The data obtained from RSI Banjarnegara in 2022 revealed that there were 303 cases of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients and 19 cases of hemorrhagic stroke patients. Research Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the risk factors associated with stroke occurrences at RSI Banjarnegara. Research Methodology: Research Methodology: The research methodology employed in this study was an analytical observational approach utilizing a cross-sectional design. The sample selection was conducted using purposive sampling, and a total of 77 stroke patients were included in the study. Data collection was carried out by utilizing the patients' medical records. The collected data was then subjected to logistic regression analysis for further analysis. Research Findings: The research findings indicate that, in partial analysis, the age variable has a P value of 0.000, gender has a P value of 0.022, obesity has a P value of 0.002, diabetes mellitus has a P value of 0.002, and hypertension has a P value of 0.000. Simultaneously, the variables of age, gender, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension have a P value of 0.000, with an R2 value of 0.699. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship and influence, both partially and simultaneously, between age, gender, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension on the occurrence of stroke at RSI Banjarnegara, with a total influence of 69.9%. Recommendations for future researchers: For future researchers, it is recommended to increase the number of respondents or research samples to obtain more comprehensive and accurate results.
