Abstract

Background: Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease that occurred when oxygen and blood flow to the brain was reduced. In nursing, the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion arose because Stroke disease was at risk of decreasing blood circulation to the brain, which, in turn, had the potential to cause a decrease in SpO2 levels flowing into the brain. The adjustment of position, also known as bed rest, was one of the nursing actions aimed to stabilize SpO2 levels and maintain airway patency. Objective: To explain the analysis of nursing care in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients with a significant nursing problem - the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in the Emergency Room of Prembun Hospital, Kebumen. Methods: The research method was a case study. The number of samples was 5 Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients with nursing diagnoses related to the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion in the Emergency Room of Prembun Hospital, Kebumen. Results: From the results of the study, it was found that the five patients were elderly, with 3 males and 2 females. The primary intervention that had been carried out on the five patients was the provision of a 30-degree head-up position. The implementation results showed that after being given a 30-degree head-up position, the average patient experienced an increase in SpO2 levels by 12-23%, with details of increased SpO2 levels in patient 1: 73-97% (21%), patient 2: 84-96% (12%), patient 3: 80-98% (18%), patient 4: 76-98% (22%), and patient 5: 73-97% (23%). Evaluation results at 60 minutes in the five patients showed that there was an increase in SpO2 levels according to the expected target of ≥95%. Recommendation: The results of nursing actions by giving a 30-degree head-up position helped increase SpO2 levels in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients.
